VIN Number Data
I am trying to find out when my new truck is going to be built. It is on order and I have the VIN number.
I did a search here, but nothing on here panned out.
Also, I want to know if anyone knows the production plant codes for the f-150.
Should be either Dearborn, MI. Or Kansas City, MO. I live 20 miles from the KC MO plant, and was wondering if it will be built here.
I know that the 11th digit in the VIN is the plant code, just don't know the code. Any help is appreciated.

"F" is Dearborn, MI
VIN decoder:
https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp
You can try to get your window sticker here:
http://services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin="YOUR VIN HERE WITHOUT THE QUOTATION MARKS"
If you do get it, in the upper left there will be a code. that will tell you the build date.

Nothing came up on it there. I have tried several VIN look up sights and nothing seems to be working. My VIN has the F in it, so I guess it's Dearborn. That will take a lot longer to get it then.
Seems crazy that they wouldn't build it here in the KC. Oh well.
I think the build time is the week of May 31st. However, I was trying to verify.
Thanks for your help.

Doesn't that seem crazy. I looked at a truck that is literally 2 miles from the plant at a Ford dealer and the truck was from Dearborn. The dealer told me that most of his come from Dearborn. And the ones that come from KC have just as much frieght on them, and they cannot pick them up from the plant either. They have to be loaded on a truck and then unloaded 10 minutes later. Maybe that is why the car companies are in such a bad way.

The truck was ordered at the end of March and arrived on May 17th. It was built in Dearborn and shipped to Newfoundland, Canada. Approximately 7 weeks delivery time which was pretty fast. The truck is an XLT SCrew and I will take delivery from my local dealer next week.
