OEM running board lights, replace?

I have a light out on the drivers side running board, front. How the heck do you access the bulb? I don't have any papers on it so I don't have a clue how to get to the bulb and I don't want to rip into it without asking first! Thanks,

Tim

This is really pretty simple. Just crawl under and look up. You will see a small clip that holds the light in place inside of the housing. Snap her open, pull out the bulb and replace. The bulb can be found at any most any auto parts store, I got mine @ Pep Boys.

I have had to replace the drivers side rear bulb twice. The second time I found the reason the bulbs were going out was that water was getting inside the housing. Check to see if this is your problem as these bulbs should last years. After washing your truck or driving in the rain check to see if there is any water accumulating in the light housing. If so you will need to fix it or your new bulb won't last.

Mine had an ill fitting gasket. I simply separating the two halves of the housing, cleaned the old gasket material away, made a new gasket and put her all back together. I haven't had another problem since.

Petrol,

Thanks for the help! I couldn't find the opening for the light, I'll have to open my eyes and look a little harder...

I figured it was water, I can see the condensation under the lense. Thanks for the gasket tip, that is what I'll have to do I guess.

I just didn't want to rip anything apart without knowing what to do, I'm no mechanic and I know my limitations!

Thanks again,

Tim
