Apparently the tow package had dual shocks in the front, so checking that one should be easy, also the door tag should say something. If anything else fails, check the VIN, even though i don't recall what you should be looking for...
Quad shock front axle, what Ford called the Supercool radiator package which was a four core unit on the 5.0 and 5.8, auxiliary transmission cooler (automatics in front of the driver's side of the A/C evaporator), front and rear sway bars all made up the "tow package" in 1992.
I have the tow package on 1994. It does NOT have quad shocks. Has transmission cooler, engine oil cooler under the oil filter, big radiator, trailer wiring relays, sway bars front and rear.
This was a situation where finding the tow package without the handling package was actually a rare occurrence simply because it made sense to have both but wasn't one of those "if you want one, you have to buy both" situations.
