I thought I saved a few links to some threads regarding aftermarket
and/or owner-fabbed x-members added to '56 frames with driveshaft
loops and I CANNOT seem to find them....
You is one of us. I do recall the thread as well but couldn't find it so wasn't going to bother and reply but your last plea for help made me do this. A help I'm sure you'll appreciate
John
If you have access to a 67-72 chev there is a crossmember with a hoop designed in it because of the trailing arm rear suspension and the frames are the same width. I believe there is a picture in one of my galleries the might show the member I'm talking about.
I found a few pictures of the x-members I was trying to explain when I
originally started this thread...
These are what I thought remembered seeing "someone" on this site using
on a '56 (or so) effie...
This is the Progressive Automotive, out of Ohio, set-up...but they claim
you MUST use thier brake booster/pedal unit...ships UPS...in pieces...
This one...WAAAAAAAY up above!....I think might be an original Duce frame...sorry about the pic size....not sure what happened there...snagged it from the 'net...
Dagel's Super X ...it is a "kit"...I think intended for early Ford's...'32 & up...
Definatley has that ol' skool feel & look......
Art Morrison Center-Frame-Kit !!!
For some reason.......other than the obvious...I'm likin' this set-up...
ANYWAY....I really thought "someone" had fabbed up something along
these lines a while back on an Effie.......
You are right about seeing a build like that on here and I've spent a bit of time trying to find it but have come up short. If i remember correctly he was building a 53,I know this is not much help but at least you know that your not the only one that seen it,lol
