I have a 2002 4x4 Power Stroke extended cab,it has single overloads on it.I tow a 44ft box trailer,it comes down on them.I was thinking of stacking them and leaving a small space, enough to keep the truck up for towing and no change in the ride when not towing.Need opinion!
Don't know about tacking the springs but why not air bag assisted lift? I have air bags on my truck and it helps a TON! If I get to much of a load I just blow the air bags up, lvl out the truck and I'm set. You can also get a compressor on the truck and blow them up and release the air on the fly.
Give me a PM if you want as I have a set of RAS that I took off my truck that I was going to throw on Craigslist. They are a great product but I had new overload packs built just because my camper is so heavy.
Take the overload off and install the Roadmaster Active Suspension. That's what I'm about to do with my F250.

Thanks for the idea, just went to look at a 2005 King Ranch dually.50,000 miles on it,$31,000.Has the same springs and overloads as my F250,will still need to modify the rear suspension. If things go good will see if it is still there in a couple of weeks.
If you are on a budget, I would also recommend looking at Timbren. My father has them on his Chevy and really likes them. He regularly tows a 40' 14K 5er and his truck sits level even with a pinweight of around 2K or so.
