67-72 to 73-79 Dashboard swap

This idea popped into my head over the weekend, and I was just wondering if anyone has done it, swapping the dash out of a 73-79 into a bump? Would it fit? Just an excercise in curiousity at the moment, but you never know where this may go.

I'll have to track him down. I just thought it might make an intersting upgrade to the bump.

interesting maybe but i really dont care for the dent side dash, i would rather get a dent and put a bump dash in it.

Later Dash

Ive been back and forth on this swap these trucks share the same windshield if you have the donor at home with you it will make it a lot easier cause you are going to need the panel that the dash attaches to got to cut it loose from the cab under the windshield this is why I put in a question if any body has used the 73-79 inner fenders and hood hinges cause im wanting to go with factory air with the 73-79 dash and the 67-72 hinges being on the inside will interfere with the heater hoses I have thrown a 73-79 dash in the cab of the 67-72 and the dash will fit if you do it post some pics If I remember right you are going to need the 73-79 emergency brake assembly

The 73-79 f500's and up retained the 67-72 dash, the cowl stampings and windshield structure frame are a bumpside carryover. The only possible issue might be the location of the steering column in relation to the dash. I may also be working on a form of this swap eventually.

I'll have to check on the placement of heater hoses in a dentside, compared to a bump.

It is possible, I have seen dentside medium duty trucks that have bumpside dashes. I have a round gauge panel out of one of these. I too would like to put a bumpside dash into a dentside, a supercab shortbed is what I dream about doing this to.

I just think it would be nice to have the vents in the dash, for the AC and heat.

There is that but remove the ash tray and put in some vents and there is some space next to the glove box just like the dent side. Just an idea, I've had this thought before can you tell?

Yep! Since this truck will be sort of a daily driver, and I plan on keeping it long term, comfort is a big deal.
