Which speedo for 91 Bronco?
I need to get a new speedo gear for my Bronco, it was running 31's and has 35's on it right now. The gear tooth in it right now is 17 and it is white
I found the equation for the speedo on a previous thread I had about it. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...0&pagenumber=2
598 are the revs/mile of the tires I will have on it in a couple days.
I get (7T x 3.55 x 598)/ 1000 = 14.86 so I would need a 15T speedo gear, correct?
Does anyone know the part #?

Steve83 has posted or knows the procedure for converting to the newer PSOM speedo. I am alll but certain he has done this. You can reprogram the PSOM six times before it will no longer accept changes. You might check with him. As I understand it, those gears are rapidly becoming white elephants.

Yes--you can reprogram the PSOM in a 92(?) and later Bronco, because they used a sensor on the rear end to calculate the speed...
On the 91(?) and earlier, there was no sensor and the speed is determined by the gear on the end of the speedo cable.

Thats what I am talking about....installing a PSOM in place of the existing speedo. Steve83 claims to have done this on his older Bronco and has the info for doing the swap.

'87-up already has the sensor in the rear axle - it's the RABS sensor. I had to cut some plastic to fit it into my cluster, and of course, add some wiring to power it.

My bad--I misunderstood what you were refering to...I thought you were still talking about just correcting for the larger tires....
