I have seen several "Electrical Schematics" but they all dealt with the ignition system only. I am looking for a schematic (with wire colors listed) for the directional system. This would include from the switches on the steering column to the lights. Has anyone got one of these or know where I can get one?
I hear that I can get a shop manual for the 61-64 F100 and also an adendum for my particular year. Does anyone know if the shop manual will have a detailed wiring diagram for all electric circuts? Including the directionals?
I tried orderring from the Jim Osborne site but got a page not found right after clicking Add to shopping cart. I did end up orderring the chope manual and insert you mentioned below on CD. Thanks for everyone's advice and when I get my directionals straightened out I will let you know.
just recnetly i located wiring diagrams for about 7 dollars in an LMC truck magazine that i had ordered about three months ago and it finally showed. you can scope them out on pg. 133 i believe of LMC's magazine. they should also be on their online if your interested.
I ended up getting the shop manual on CD from a site called GearHeadCafe.com and it came in on Friday. I printed off the pages I needed and in about 4 hours had the dash all working as should. Found that there were a couple of bulbs out, a blown fuse and someone at some point had changed the wires on one side of the plug between the Steering column and the main line that ran to the front and rear lights. Once I figured out what was what I was able to hook everything up and man it is nice to be able to see the dash again.
Fixed:
1. Rear directionals which got switched when my steering coulumn was worked on.
2. Replaced 2 of three burnt out dash bulbs
3. Po had disconnected the High beam indicator because the little blue crystal had fallen out so I manufactured one and hooked that up.
4. Reconnected the speedometer
5. Cleaned the glass and now it's a pleasure to drive once again.
