I purchased a complete used set of factory manuals off E-bay for my 04 for $69. Of course they were used but all the pages are there and everything was readable and it included both volumes and the wiring diagram book. Did the same for my wife's 02 Camry although I ended up giving about $90 for those.

you can tell when you are on a young person's forum...for example I have to go to a Celica forum when troubleshooting items for Daughter's 03'
some enthusatic young un' has all 1,600 pages of the factory service manual scanned into 2 .pdf files for free download on the forum
sure wish some bored Ford Enthusiasts would do the same haha!

agree no need to violate copyright laws but I have for years figured the automotive industry was "bass-ackwards" when it came to service manuals
in our industry (global oil & gas engineered equipment provider) we make our money on sale of new product & lots of parts so we are happy to share detailed service materials at no cost to anyone who needs them...we don't nickel & dime good customers who 1) bought our product & 2) will buy our parts ... by then saying oh yeah, give us a few hundred $ for a book to tell you how to work on our product
so do I feel guilty if the manual is scanned & posted on a site & I use it for personal work on a vehicle...heck no! is it really any different from borrowing one from friend or library & making photocopy? nope...just for my personal use
FYI I did buy a $5 download of a Ford service manual in .pdf (all 6,500+ pages) for my Excursion...was it legal for this seller to sell it to me? don't know & don't care...that is problem for seller & EBAY/Ford (who have plenty of money if they really want to regulate this thing)
bottom line is if a car is enjoyable to own & work on good chance that manufacturer will get future business from me in form of new car purchases & plenty of parts so they'll get their $ from me no worries
just my two cents!
