My father got a Superchip 1805 for his birthday today and my brother was in process of installing the program when the batteries died on his 2004 Superduty 6.0 Powerstroke. I guess they were on the brink anyway.
We installed new batteries and thought that the install would automatically resume, but it just gave a message "E-36" to contact Superchips. I have tried every number I could find for Superchips, but nobody was home and will not be back until Monday.
Thing is - my father has to be on the road tomorrow. Any advice on what to do?
More than likely you are going to have to take it to the dealer and get the PCM reflashed (unless SC can e-mail you the stock file).
Since most dealers aren't open on Sundays, it's not looking good for tomorrow.
Flashing the PCM takes a LOT of juice and a high voltage. This is one of the reasons most programmers warn against flashing in extreme temperatures, turning off all accessories, load testing the battery before flashing, even using a battery tender to make sure the battery is topped off, and NOT flashing away from home or when you don't have time to resolve an issue. Not trying to admonish you or your brother, just providing information for new programmer/tuner users.
