C Series gauge cluster

The gauge cluster on my '62 C600 is shot. the printed circuit traces are so fractured that nothing works, and any attempt at soldering them is not well received by the 48 year old plastic board.

Has anyone installed a newer instrument panel on their C series? The dash was unchanged through 1990 so I know a new one will fit, but not sure what issues might arise with newer gauges though.

Does it not share the gauge cluster from the 57-60 pick-ups? 57 was the first C series. If so, dakota digital makes a digital cluster that fits the dash. I may be wrong about all of this.

I'd be interested in the entire instrument panel, or just the 5 gauge cluster, whatever.
Could you email me: adharvey@montanasky.net
Looks like this, right?

Thanks

The C Series Tilt Cab was not available with a printed circuit board until 1978, so if your 1962 has one, the cluster has already been swapped.

F Series trucks use different instrument clusters than C Series.

wowabunga: (1967 C Series) Need sheet metal for step area? What does this mean, you want the running boards?

Ok Mr. Numbers.... here's a visual of what I'll be needing for the restoration. When you step up into the C-Cab the "well" or the "first step" on both sides , they will need either touched up with welding or NOS sheet metal.

The image is from a Ford Truck Body book from 1964. Your D8HZ16450A/D8HZ16451A running boards are what I need the most and many thanks for the part numbers. Now do I just slap the D8HZ in front of the other numbers ( in light blue on the pic ) to continue my search ??? Are there any better exploded images for the body parts that you've run across or is this pretty much what I have to work with ?

No rush on this project... but I am slowing filling up several boxes with NOS parts for the restoration. Truck is very solid with only a few areas needing attention. This has the sleeper cab... interior is covered floor to ceiling in 1970's thick red **** carpet

Oh... got any 1960's numbers on a black rubber floor mat for this rig ? THANKS...!

No, you don't just slap the D8HZ prefix in front of these numbers. It applies to the boards, it may not apply to anything else.

When I look in the OSI catalogs..then I will find this out.

And....basic numbers 00190 & 00191 and 02514 are body part numbers, not chassis part numbers as the others are.

Body part basic numbers require the two additional numbers before the basic number shown in illustrations, like this:

C4TZ9102514A and after looking in the OSI catalog, I discovered that D8HZ6002514A is the replacing part number.

Ford is in-famous for replacing (updating) 10's of 1000's of part numbers every year.

If you don't have OSI (Obsolete-Supercede-Interchange) Catalogs, you may be lookin' for a number that was replaced...sometimes more than once.

Keeping track of these changes was...and still is a ROYAL PITA! Before I post a part number, I have to check and see if it was replaced or not,

If replaced, I list the new and former part numbers.

Maybe I'll just stick with the red **** carpet that someone installed in the 1970's and that will solve that problem. I've got a NOS 1980's floor mat in storage and will check to see if that number matches up.... right now there's so much junk piled up in front of the door I can't even get to the attic. I need to start selling some of this stuff.

Your number research help is amazing. There may not be any of some of these parts on dealer shelves but somewhere they may pop up and I'll be looking....!!!

I'm going to drive the C-750 down to Charlotte once restored and give Bobby Allison a ride ( he used to own the hauler in the early 70's ) and you're invited to tag along Bill.

Thanks a Plenty,
Ramblin Randy
