Front D60 U-Joints episode
After 10 years, I finally am changing u-joints. Drivers side was rusted in so bad that the inner shaft bent just enough when pressing out that the c-clips will not fit with new joints. Can this shaft be salvaged?

Did the shaft bend or just one of the ears that hold the u-joint bearing cups. I had one where the ear had bent and I could not get the new u-joint in. Bent it back and everything is working fine now. Used a big bench vise and put a long pipe around the drive shaft. Went slowly and checked often. Did not want to go too far in the other direction. The long pipe (4') was good because it gave leverage and a lot of movement at the pipe end meant small movement in the u-joint ear.

Since you have it apart you might consider putting snap rings in to hold the axle u joints. I have heard it makes the u joints stronger and less likely to come out. I think you have to clearence the yolk or ear so they will fit all the way around.....
