C6 Shift problems
I have purchased 1978 f-150 4 wheel dr. It Has a 351M w/ C6 auto tranny. This truck was used as a pulling truck (amateur) if figure from the looks. The truck runs very well however the problem lies in the transmission. When it is put into Drive it not will shift ouy..But it will shift manually from 1st to 2nd fine.. revirse is strong. I have couple of questons. first could this tranny be set up this way as not to shift out , or to be shifted manaually only , The shifts from 1st to 2nd are firm and no slipage as is the same with revirse.
