Im still trying to find lower gears for my 90 F150 4x4 w/ 300 and 5 speed. for the rear i can find a exploder 8.8 but im still stuck for the front. Anyone have any cheapish ideas? Im looking for either 3.73's or 4.10's
4.10 gears were more common in F250's so maybe look around your local scrapyards for a light duty F250 with the D44HD in front(small hubs) and steal the pumpkin.. that part is the same as what's on the 1/2 ton D44.
Unless your running significantly larger tires, I would not recommend running lower gears with the 300. It is not a high reving engine and makes low end power.
lol yeah the jail time thing is not my style. im actually looking at running 33's to work everyday.... a friend of mine has 35'' kumhos for me....i think i'll be triming the fenders a bit...
ok thanks. i've never done anything with gears before but i heard that you can "wedge" clutches on a limited slip so that there is less slip. how is that done? can i do it on the front too?
