It will not bolt up. And if it did, how would you get a computer to make it shift?

I don't know why you'd want the E04D instead of the 5R110 anyway. For the cost of the changeover you can make a bulletproof 5R110. What kind of problem are you having and do you have a COMPETENT tech to fix it. There are some very small things to do to a stock 5R110 that will make it handle a LOT of HP.

You find a automobile transmission software engineer that have the modules from Ford to work around the issue.....

These people are scarcer than $2 bills.

May I ask why would you want to go from Filet Mignon to ground chuck? I have had many a scary situations with the old tranny, not one with the torqshift and the old tranny was all stock, even when the torqshift was going south because of too much hp, it didn't do what the old one did.

The bell housing is different. Your better off to fix what ya got. It would likely take a built e4od to handle what a torqshift would dish out anyway.

More then likely more temp then you would like to think. I was/am less then pleased with the tranny behind the 7.3, so I don't tend to beat around the bush with my feelings towards that tranny. You haven't lived to you've had to deal wtih Dallas traffic hauling horses with a tranny that takes 1.5 minutes to shift so I can make a left turn to try to beat traffic and that was on a good day.

Cheaper and more reliable to do your torqueshift. Plus you wouldn't be happy.

You will be much happier with your dcision than if you had found a way to do the mod. The 7.3L tranny's were not really their strong point (personal experience).
