You ought to deduct $1000 just for those automatic hubs that never work. No offense meant. If it were me I wouldn't buy just because of the hubs.

You must be kidding...Pass this beautiful truck up because of hubs? I did the warn manual conversion to my F-150 years ago. It took an hour and 110$ Advanced auto stocks the kit..Works great. But thanks for the advice, but ill pass it on.

Good luck with it. (on edit) Don't get me wrong. It's a nice truck I'm sure. If your good with them go for it. I don't know much about them other than the issues I've read about and the people I know that have had that system. Is it a push-button 4X4 system or is there a normal (to me) shifter for the transfer case?

I just payed 4100 for mine. 200000 on it 5 spd with a little rust. Its an xl and had steel rims.
If the tranny is worth much in it id give him 6000. That noise could be minor or major and that would be a bring down the price point. If he knows alot about a stroke it might not work. The guy i bought mine off of kept calling a 6.0 stroke a 6.6 so i started ramblin off stuff. He came down quick from 6000 when he figured out i knew what i was looking at. And i rolled up in my 94. lol

Its just a floor shifter. You get the kit and it includes two plates and a spring, and a cap with the turn ****. Very very easy, if i were you id never pass one up because of that. If your not good with them im sure its not more than a shops hour labor to swap them for you.

My truck has a lot of weird little noises also, but they are all coming from the 2 kids in the back seat. I think my next mod will be a limo partition
