If you had to choose to buy parts made in Mexico or China, which would you choose?
Personally, I prefer made in the USA, but that's not an option...
FWIW the parts made in China are supposed to be 1/2 the cost of those in Mexico, and about 1/3 the cost of current know high quality parts made in Italy...
It has been my experience China has a horrendous issue with counterfeiting.
The company I work for looses 10 of millions of dollars every year due to it.
it sounds like Jim doesn't have a choice, and wants to know what his customers would prefer, personally Jim, I would go with which ever one seemed to be of the higher quality, that is what matters more to me

There are none of these particular parts made in the USA.
I have used the ones from Mexico for a while now. I didn't know it, my supplier switched on me and I never knew. They used to sell me parts from Italy. They are decent parts from what I can tell.
The biggest problem with the Chinese parts is how long will it take for them to be proven?
Many years I would think and I for one don't want to 'test' them...
I tend to think of these things in socioeconomic patterns and I hate sending money to China for cheap garbage (including parts that I do not want in my vehicle), but I am less upset about sending that money to Mexico where the labor is probably slightly better paid and might make a better part. The American auto industry has used Mexico for a long time now. China has been working more and more into the mix and I am not happy about it. I, for one, will veer away from the Chinese part and would even prefer Taiwan over the mainland.
I'll vote for Mexico. Heck, America has been built by Mexicans for years now. I think there are more hands on type craftsman south of our border as opposed to automated factories with slave labor over in China. I think the quality is better if the worker takes pride in their work, and I think Mexico will do a better job with that.
