Im looking at a 1995 diesel f-250 4x4 and was wondering if all 95 diesels were powerstrokes or if some were still idi's? Any problems with the 95 Powerstrokes that are not common with other psd?
you gotta post the actual link. not the email address. If its the white one. I would FOR SURE go look at it. It said rebuilt engine which makes me curious what happened to the original. but its a 5speed which is nice. If i was over on the west side right now, i'd be looking at it!
I love my truck. The only thing i see with that truck is it has the IDI radiator in it which means it was probably an early 95. No big deal there. Ford used the IDI radiators on Powerstrokes until they used them all up.
I have never worried about it. That was mostly a IDI issue. Although im sure there are people on here that will tell you differently. Just use the right coolant and you should be fine.
ok cool. how does yours start in the ellensburg winters when its not pluged in? I spend a good amount of time in that area in the winter hunting and such and I wont be able to plug it in.
It sucked cuz i had bad plugs. Once i changed those i didnt have too much of a problem. Just put new glowplugs in and a new gpr. Then check all your wiring. Shouldn't be an issue if that engine is new though... But just cycle the plugs all the way through and it shouldn't have too much trouble.
I have a 1995. It has 140,000 miles. The first morning I tried to start it, I left it outside. It was 12. It started up. It was a little unhappy about it but it started.
I plug it in when its below freezing. I have had no issues. This site is great because I know what to look for when it does start having issues.
Yes sir, GPR = glow plug relay. And by cycle them i mean, turn the key to the on position and let them glow for a full cycle or two which can be up to 120 seconds when its really cold outside.. Then you should have no problem starting.
