If I were to guess I would say it is a fuel problem. I would start with the filter and go from there. Shaun

Sorry for the short 1st message. I was trying to type it on my phone over my lunch break. The truck was running great. The load wasnt that heavy at all, i have pulled much heavier loads and worked the engine much harder without ever having an issue. Till now. i was in luck and one of our truck drivers with a goose neck and a winch drove by right after it happened. He circled around and loaded up the truck, and we had a mechanic bring another truck so i could keep going. All in less then 15min. Talk about team work Team Work!

Anyways, i replaced the fuel filter. But the old one was clean anyways. Im getting fuel to the schrader valve used for a pressure test. But i don't have a fuel pressure gauge, ill get one tomorrow to see. Im also gonna take a code reader and see if its throwing any.

It has good spark. Im thinking it might be in the computer. It seems like its getting fuel to the injectors, they just aren't firing.

Any ideas? I really need to get the truck on the road. Its my daily driver and i use it for work.

If fuel pressure checks out good(40psi at the rail) you could have a bad TFI module.. sometimes they die slowly but other times they just quit. If so there should be a code in the computer for loss of IDM or PIP signal. If so be sure to replace the module with one that is the same color as what you have now.

Thanks for the info, I will defiantly check that out.

Im hoping to get as many ideas as possible so that i can go up to the shop tomorrow with a good list of things to check and hopefully fix it tomorrow. otherwise we'll load it back up on the trailer and bring it home, with a dodge. The first time was already embarrassing, and I don't wanna go through that again.

What bugs me the most is that the engine is such a reliable engine. I'v seen carb versions go forever. They will keep running with busted pistons and thrown rods. But When you add all the computer stuff. all it takes is one little sensor and your stuck. i know that its still reliable, it just bugs me right now.

Actually I made a mistake there, fuel pressure should be 50psi at the rail on the 300I6.

New info. I havent had a chance to check the fuel pressure. I dont have a gauge and havent had a chance to buy one. Although i did check codes. I got code 512- EEC battery powered Keep Alive Memory (KAM) test failed. I dont think this is the first time its showed up. A couple moths ago my check engine light came on and i checked it and got this code. Then checked it agian and got a EGR code and figures that was tripping the check engine light. But i guess i may have been wrong.

Any ideas about what code 512- EEC battery powered Keep Alive Memory (KAM) test failed, means?

Thanks for any help.

I need to add that the battery got really weak from attempted cranking, but had been charged before the test.
