V's & RAS

I did a search but couldnt find anyone that has done front V springs and stock rear with RAS.

Vehicle is a 04 V-10 X with 75K. No wander problems but the frt springs are worn and I can see where the bump stops are hitting. I am getting ready to replace the tires with 285\75\16 load E and I have had a RAS kit sitting in the garage for a year or two so I figured I would knock it all out at once. The rear springs were replaced 25K ago at the dealer with factory replacement X springs (Warranty) along with the front ball joints.

I tow a TT around 9K lbs with this vehicle and a 22 foot boat, other then that it doesnt get moved much. It tows great as is and the only modifications I have done are a larger F350 sway bar, 4 bilstein shocks and a set of Timbrens on the rear.

I guess my question is if I put V's on the front and RAS on the rear would I still have a slight rake? Right now the rear sits about 1.5 inches higher then the front unloaded. I read about the bigger blocks from the F350 in the rear but I also read the RAS gives you a slight lift in the back as well. I just dont want to go too high in the back.

Thanks for your time

Rc

I don't know, but I'll bet that is going to be hard to answer. Most people are getting about a 1" lift with RAS, but we're adding them to springs with higher mileage on them. As for the front, that may depend on how bad your originals are sagging. If you are handling good now, and not really looking for lift, I'd consider replacing them with stock springs.

The RAS will lift it in the rear for sure. I am estimating ~2" max. I ran the V's and B's and have my RAS sitting in the garage now - debating on selling it. But I remember what it looked like when I first installed them on stock springs: noticeable difference. Try it and see how you like it - they go on and off relatively easily.

I've installed RAS on new "B code" rear springs. The extra lift is just about 1" for me.

This is after I installed the RAS on mine so just over an inch for me on stock springs.

Same idea, stock rear springs

My 2003 4WD V10 Ex has around 80K and I'm thinking about the new V codes in the front and RAS in the back. My first question is will the RAS eliminate the need for the 3.5" tapered block? Second is about shocks. With the V codes/RAS do I purchase standard Rancho shocks for an Excursion or for a F250?

Thanks in advance.

You only need the block in the rear if you're swapping the springs. The shocks you'd purchase would be for an F250. Stewart posted the part numbers somewhere. I ordered the same ones. I would just swap both front/rear springs and be done with it.

Don't have a pic but with the V's and the RAS it pretty much leveled the truck out. No rake at all.
