I know that i have a ground issue in my instrument panel that when the dash lights are on my fuel and temperature guage peg out. I think there is some kind of voltage regulator on the back of the instrument cluster, does this tie to the temperature guage wiring also? What i see happening is while driving without the dash lights on the temperature guage fluctuates between 1/4 hot to 3/4 hot, i have changed thermostats and temperature sending units twice, when i went to a 160 degree thermostat it did run cooler.
Is my ground issue when dash lights are also effecting the guage when the lights are off? My next adventure is to remove instrument cluster to figure out what is happening.
