My 2006 XLT Screw 4x4 is in the shop and it needs a brake switch on the brake pedal ($143). The cruise control was not working and the brake lights sometimes worked. The truck has 49k miles.

I had the same issue Sept. 2006 about a month after purchasing the truck new with only about 1k miles. They replaced the brake switch then also(under warrenty).

Is the brake switch a common problem on 2006 F150? Replaced twice with less than 50k miles?

I don't know what would cause this problem. Anyone heard of this issue or is it just my luck?

 

I haven't heard that this is a major issue with these trucks. Our trucks do have a few problems, but brake light switch wasn't one of the ones I remember. Power window switches is a different story.
