How long have you had it, and what will it's primary purpose be(towing/grocery getter, interstate super cruiser)?

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to FTE.

Okay, I see you added some stuff to your original post.

Is there anything you think it needs, now that you've had it a month? How does it handle for you?

It's my daily driver and always will be.(I just Love it) When i can sell my 5th wheel I will buy a trailer to pull. It does wander a little but not bad. It needs eveything i have read here since i joined ie: lift, intake, exhaust, tuner, head unit w/ dvd & bluetooth and gauges to name a few things.

Is anything done to it now? Lift/tires, etc..

We all have different opinions here, but that's what makes it so much fun.

Far a DD I'd get new shocks if it still has stockers($250), an Edge Insight($300/ can be upgraded with a pyro) or ScanGuage II ($170/ no pyro input possible), a pair of replacement speakers for the front doors($100), and a turbo back exhaust (about$450).

You plan on doing the work yourself?

have basically the same truck that will be PAID OFF in 2 months !!!!!!!!!!!!

skip the intake unless u are going for > 500hp... can't do better that stock...

lift for larger tires ? then u might consider gearing too if u are going to bigger tires....
the order of update on mine was:

Prelim - took roof crossbars off... did grill mod for more are... dang the user name escapes me

1 headlite harness & bulbs and rear hellwig sway bar
2 exhaust, Walker BTM $65 (u can do turboback $3-400, catback $2 - 300)
2 SCT tuner $400+ (don't know how I lived without a sct tuner ! )
3 I didn't do head unit w/ dvd & bluetooth - I use my dvd MAYBE once per quarter...
4 GOOD portable gps I could play audio books and mp3's thru when travelling....

next I'm getting the rancho adjustable shocks I had on my 03 Ex - really miss em....
Check out results in my signature below....
good luck - it will be fun !

To reinforce John's list of suggestions, I'd also start with an exhaust system, get some gauges to keep an eye on things (EGT, trans temp, Boost, Fuel pressure), then look into an SCT tuner with some custom tunes. That should eat up $1K easily.

IMO, with 59 payments to go, learn more before you get the tuner. Yes, the stock headbolts can stretch and then you have headgasket problems($$$$).

then i should just replace the head bolts first and get it over with. They can't be that hard to change. Cause with the extra HP it will cause those bolts to stretch.

Change all of your fluids so that you know and decide what you don't like a about it so far...ie wandering, no power, or better stereo sound. You have so many directions to go...

Another subject that'll get diesel guys into an uproar. I'm of the belief that 6.0l's like fresh oil, not necessarily the best oil. I use Valvoline 15-40 dino and change it every 3K miles.

Nothing but Motorcraft FL 2016 oil filters.
