What size lift?

I was wondering what size lift to use with 36x14.50x16 or 36x12.50x16 on 16x12 with 4.5" backspacing? I currently have a 4" lift with 35x12.50x16 with 16.5x10 with little rubbing on the fender liners. I was thinking of going with a 8", but was wondering if a 6" would be enough.

I am going with a wider rim due to the fact that I hate the bulge look with wide tires on small rims. Any info would be great, if you got pics that would help also. Thanks!

I appreciate your reply, I am already thinking towards the 8", the 6" would have been better (wife has bad back, injury from car accident). I do go offroading almost every weekend out at the lake and in the desert. Just was wondering about the clearence issues I might have with the wider rims.

Remember, with an excursion, bigger is always better...

I have no problems with rubbing or anything, but it can be a bone jaring ride. I take my mother on rides and she also has a bad back, but doesn't bother her. It's just alittle hard getting into for her. Off topic, where do you have you're onboard air mounted? Oh, I'm running 13.5 x 20. The 14.5 x 16 could be alittle too wide, but you're backspacing.

I've got the Viair mounted on the crossmember that runs under the 2nd row seats between the frame rails.

I currently have a Viair 450 instead of the 400 that is in the pic. It does vibrate and make some noise but I am used to it already. If the noise is the thing that you are worried about, then you have to mount it in the engine compartment.

With me lifted so high, I have a lot of room to play with and was thinking about mounting everything near the tank and rear axle. Been thinking about AMP steps and they would help with smaller folks getting in. Just something for you to think about.

I have a 6" BDS lift with 34/14.5/16 on 16X12 rims and they rub when turning tight and when backing up. Lots of companies make shackle kits for these and you could keep your springs if it rides well. Icon makes a 7" kit that seems to give a good ride.
