X code ride height

I had installed a set of front springs from a friends truck that only had about 2,000 miles on them before he install a lift kit. After a couple weeks of driving they settled a little. He told me his truck had the snowplow package. My door sticker says UA for spring code. I checked his the other day and his said XA. So now I have X codes but it doesen't seem to sit any higher than my U code with over 100,000 miles on them, the nose still sits lower than the rear. I want that look, so that when I haul the trailer it levels the truck, but I thought with the X it would sit level. I haven't had a chance to check the rear suspension to see what it is under it. I was wondering it anyone could measure from the top of the tires to the bottom of the wheel well, and post on here so the I can compare it to mine. I have 285 tires. Thanks.

Your better off going from the center of the hub, to the fender. No tire to vary then. IIRC I have a 5200# replacement front pack (2600 per side) plus an extra leaf which was rated for another 400 or so per side. Mine sits pretty high in the front. Works really well with the extra weight I have.

When I installed X codes on my F-350 it only raised my front end about half of an inch. Wasn't very dramatic but it certainly helped stiffen up the front and keeps the front from sagging with the plow hooked up.

I went from U codes to the X code and it lifted mine up about 2.5". I still have a forward rake because the early 99's had F350 blocks under them that are 4" thick. The later versions have 2" blocks. It sounds like you may have gotten the 4" blocks as well. I can't understand why it didn't lift the nose more though???? I am running 305-70's, so the numbers won't mean much, but I sit about 2" higher in the rear fender than the front.

When I changed to the X code springs from V code, I gained 1 1/2" on the front. Just what I wanted.

The X codes in my truck are just 2 leafs. Are they supposed to be or are they supposed to be 3? Also the springs were arched before I installed them but now they are flat. Also I have no extra weight on the front, no plow, brush guard, aftermarket bumper etc.... I'll have to check the rear blocks to see how tall they are.

Yes, 2 leafs, and mine are almost flat also. Sounds like you are about right on this.

I just went and measured the distance from the center of the rim to the bottom to the fender. Front 24 1/2. Rear 27 1/4. Also I have the 2 1/2 rear block. are these numbers similar for others?

I have an 01 Excursion that I just put X codes and 4" F350 blocks on. With stock 265's, the distance from the center of the front fender to the ground is between 39 1/2 to 40". That was a 2 1/2 increase in the front and of course 2" in the back.
