460 to a C-6

460 to a C-6

Am putting a 1979 externally balanced 460 in front of a C-6 in my 1979 Ford truck. Was wondering if it required the load-spreader ring just back of the flex plate or is that only on the internally balanced 460's. Thanks

sblume, The Tom Monroe book says " Some flexplates use a load spreader ring. If yours does, install it under the mounting bolts."

So, if it has one, use it.

If it does not, don't.
