Low oil pressure 302
Just found out about this forum and it looks like a lot of good information. I recently bought this 92 F150 and knew the oil pressure gauge was acting eratic, figured it was a bad sending unit. It has the 302 engine and i just put a gauge in place of the sending unit, unfortunately the oil pressure runs under 10 when warm and 30 at 1/2 to 2/3 throttle. At warm idle the gauge is almost 0 but the engine has no ticking noise, doesnt smoke and uses no oil. Odometer reads 130,000. Could the oil gallery where the sending unit be restricted and engine is getting oil or could it be a weak oil pump or do you think i have a used up engine. Thanks for any help.

I priced out some reman engines, just wondering what the difference would be in the regular 302 and the Heavy duty 302 and is it worth the extra price. Regular 302 for $1580 and $260 core or heavy duty for $2010 and $300 core. I plan on using the pick up for occasional heavy pulling so am leaning to the heavy duty, just wondering if the oil pan and everything else works from a normal duty to a heavy duty. Thanks for any help. These prices were from a local parts supplier.
