ford warranty work

Well I have a 05 PSD with 71000 miles on it and i was coming home from Alabama back to orlando I was pulling a 32' gooeseneck with 2 jeep wranglers on it. So a total of about 12000 lbs trailer and all and out of no where my truck made a loud boom and the tranny downshifted and smoke was rolling out from underneath my truck. Iget out and there is oil pouring out of the oil pain and it looks like there were a bunch of monkeys in there just beating the crap out of it. Im very religous on the maitnance and there is no programmer. So do u think ford will cover it underwarranty? Or will my truck be at the dealer for ever while they are trying to find a way to not cover it under warranty.

If it is an '05, it's most likely out of the 5yr/100k warranty anyway, unless you bought it really late.

The 5 year/100k warranty is engin only though I believe. Tranny warranty is only good for 36k, unless an extended warranty was purchased. I would bet you are up the creek on getting warranty to cover it either way.

Broke a rod I'll bet. Should be covered under engine warranty with a $100 deductible.

Well, if it was going to break, it couldn't have happened at a better time. Just before your warranty expires. Sorry to hear about you misfortune.

Be sure and check to see if you have a warranty on the short block they put in since your factory warranty is almost expired. I would want more than a month of warranty on a new block.

I'm not sure but I think it's at least 12mo/12K miles

I know you get that if you pay out of pocket, but I wasn't sure on warranty repairs.

Well i hope they give me a warranty longer than a month on the short block. i will be sure to ask them that. Is it common in the 6.0 PSD for it to blow up or throw a rod after haveing 71000 miles on it?

From what I have read the lower end is one of the 6.0's strong points along with the tranny.

I recently had the turbo replaced with two weeks left on the original warranty. If I had paid for the repairs then I would have a 12/12,000 on the turbo only. I decided to get the extended warranty through ford. It lasts for an additional two years or 200,000 miles.
