Is the valve cover sort of square in x-section or more rounded?

The T stands for a 170 engine. E12 is club van. H for Lorain plant. The others are sequential numbers representing manufactured date. These numbers say the van was built in 1962 .
The door could of been changed over the years and an old tag left on. If you look at the back inside of the van where there is a support member behind the taillights. One of these will have the original serial number and give you the proper info for engine and years. It is stampped right into the metal plate support. The other place to look is under the lip of the doghouse. This requires removing the doghouse and the sealant to the floor to see the serial number agin on the floor lip unde the doghouse.

247657 = Assembled December 1961 as a 1962 model.

The typical problem that affects Ford Trucks, Econolines thru 1980:

People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99% of the time they did not transfer the original Warranty Plate over to the replaced door.
