found my leak

It is coming from where the injector pump mounts to the motor block, where the ip, block, and front timing cover meet. Whats the easiest way to fix this? Does the front cover need to be removed, or can I just pop off the IP and redo the silicone? I am worried about keeping it in time, what can I do to make sure it stays in time?

Pull the IP off the cover.
Then carefully pull the cover WITHOUT knocking the IP gear out/off/out of time.

Clean it up, get it oil free before resealing. The cleaner it is the better/longer it'll last leak free. I use alcohol wipes!

How do I remove the IP from the gear cover? Is it the 3 bolts on the back side of the gear cover?

If I do that the gears will stay in place right?

What about when I reassemble it wont the IP be out of time a bit?

On the front of the ip cover (side closest to the fan) there will be an oval cover held on with 2 bolts. Remove that cover. In side there will be 3 bolts that are 5\16 twelve point bolts threw the ip drive gear. Remove them. If you have a non turbo engine the ip and lines can be remove as a unit by removing the lines from the injectors, then removing the ip from the cover by removing the 3 nuts that hold the ip to the cover, noting where the lines are on the ip and cover. When you reinstall the ip try and get these lines back to where they were. Lift the ip from the engine leaving the cover in place. Once the ip is removed you can carefully remove the cover leaving the gear in place. Do not move the gear from it's resting place. Clean the two serfaces and seal them and install in reverse order.

You can add a mark between the IP and housing to ensure you get the IP back right where it was...

There is already marks, they may or may not already be aligned.

I forget what I used, but I once took off the front access cover and wedged (a popsicle stick or something) gently, but firmly between the housing and the gear. After that, it didn't want to move so easily...
