Hit a deer at 60 mph.
This is a moment when you appreciate Superduty. Can't think what would happen if I drove Mercedes. Will post picture later.
Anyway, the bumper is pretty dented, but no damage behind. I found someone selling bumper 60 miles away, but the posted picture is poor and it looks different than my Early 99.
Do you guys know if early and later 99 bumpers are the same?
Hate spending whole afternoon driving just to figure it is not working.
It did work. Very nice bumper for $200, what I think if fair price. Didn't even check the retail.
Pictures of old bumper will come tomorrow. The only damage beside the bumper was about 1/8" bend on the bumper bracket. Something I didn't even have to worry about, but having big crescent wrench handy I did anyway. Deer hit almost perfectly on the center. I think me hitting the brakes for 1/4 of second helped to some degree.
Here is the picture. The dent cracked lower behind of the bumper center, but I could actually straight it out and use for another 10 years ?
The license plate has a perfect imprint of the holder behind, what might not show on the picture
Anyway, for $200 I got the protection money worth
.
One more thing I have to rub. This is showing blowby on Powerstroke with 217k miles on it. Yes, it is a napkin.
