95 E40D into 91?

95 E40D into 91?
I have a 91 E350 with the 7.3 diesel and an E40D transmission. It has been slipping lately and its about time to get it rebuilt. (170,000 miles) Being an earlier version of the transmission it is my understanding that there are a lot of updates that need to be done to it and thus it will be expensive to rebuild. I came across an E40D out of a 95 F350 with a 6.0 diesel and about 60,000 miles on it for a decent price. I am considering it but am not sure if they would be interchangeable. Can anybody weigh in on this? Im ready to bite but want to make sure it is something that will work for my application.
