E4OD plug schematics
Greetings. I lost 2nd gear in my '96 E350 2wd 460-E40D work truck. This original transmission was rebuilt by my Ford dealership 110,000 miles ago, in 2005. I hope to baby it along while I can find a core and have it built. (We can then swap it out on a weekend and hopefully won't lose cash flow.) Please confirm my understanding that I am shopping for a big block E4OD with a manufacture date between '89 and '97. Also, I understand the electical plug changed in '95, and maybe again in '96. I do know that my transmission is OBD I. So if I purchase a pre-'95 core, will I need to move the pins in the plug? If so, I am looking for the plug schematics for pre-'95 and for '96. Can you direct me to those? And any tips on making an older E4OD work in my '96. Thanks. Kirt
