hey guys, i would just like to know if a 460 would bolt up to a t 18 trans? i have a 84 f 150 with a 300 i6 and was contemplating doing the swap, is it a major undertakeing or would it not be to bad? i really appericiate any help! thanks
It will bolt up if you get a 460 bellhousing. You will need the 460 flywheel, clutch, etc., but you can use the tranny.
You will also need to go to the junkyard and get the v8 frame perches for the engine mounts. The 6 cyl trucks have different perches.
You might also have oil filter clearance problems. The 460 trucks have a different crossmember that helps the filter clearance, but you can run a remote setup if you have to.
I have 2 460/429 bell housings, clutches, and flywheels if you need em. One is aluminum of a hydraulic clutch(stock, 10 miles) and one is cast for a manual clutch(hayes 4 finger, brand new) $200 a set up.
If you have to buy all the parts, it could get expensive. Stuff like hoses, radiator, mounts, etc. If you have a donor truck, you could probably do it cheap.
