Currently they are running right around 70-75 units a hour or about 1350 units a day based on the current 9-9.5 shifts. Thats about the best they are going to do with out adding more hours to the shifts...
I'm just guessing but I see more trucks showing up on dealer lots in my area vs. those of us receiving ordered trucks. And I know they're dealer stock because they have them nicely parked out in the front yard area for all to see.
Glad to see the numbers up but I feel sorry for the workers putting the gross ugly dually fenders on. Were they designed by a reject Dodge engineer or is this Ford's plan to give up the dually market to other manufacturer's. Changing my order to a single rear wheel, I can live with a little less GVW.
One man's ugly is another man's beauty. I didn't like them at first but they are growing on me. Kind of retro. From a practical standpoint, it seems like it's going to be hard to keep the rock chips off them. That's a big, flat surface facing forward.
All, i just registered today and this is my first post. I am a long time f150 owner and am trading 2008 King Ranch for my first diesel 250... 2011 lariat loaded. I am told mine is scheduled for build 5/14... does anyone know if the part shortage is cleared and if built next week, when it would ship? I don't wait well... thanks!
Update from a Ford employee on the blue oval forum. Things are moving along.
"As of right now, we are running with no problems. We are also working some overtime to catch up from all of the down time from the issues that we have had."
Well guys, at least some new 6.7s are getting out. My local dealer just received a 2011 F250 XLT 4wd 6.7 CC SB yesterday. First 6.7 I have seen on a lot in my area. I stopped by and test drove it today. WOW.. I really like the new diesel. Super quiet, very smooth from takeoff on up. Lots of power and quickness. A real change compared to my 2002 7.3. I also really like the ability to lock-out gears on the new transmission, and the e-locker on the rear-end. Actually provided very solid traction vs my limited-slip. I took it out for about 45 min on a mix of inclines and turns and it performed great on everything. of course I wasn't pulling or hauling anything, but just the hendling and performance were very impressive. Now I just gota figure out how to afford one ($52k) .... But I'm definitely hooked on this new SD and the 6.7.
This is just from what i know down here. The local train yard here still has a few 6.7L diesels built in march waiting to get unloaded and delivered. I dont know if this might be the 6.7L's some are seeing come in because of a similar situation. I know the original dealership i was going to buy from currently has almost 30 WT 6.2L's on order. Id immagine with them waiting on so many there is still alot of lots stocking up on gas work trucks and that alone could prob keep the line busy for a little bit.
From what I'm reading in the various forums, KTP is producing a vast majority of 6.7Ls. I don't know what the actual daily numbers are but they are anywhere between 3,500 and 6,000 units/day. We also can't deny that recent orders are being picked up much faster and build/delivery dates are coming much faster now. Guaranteed that would not be happening if Ford was still have significant production problems.
My truck is 48 hrs away. This whole FOMOCO dibacle is bu#%$*it. I ordered mine Jan 15. My buddy ordered his Feb 25 and he's had it for a month. Mine dissappeared off the damn Ford computer for a month. Now it'll probably fall off the train.
