nickname for a DODGE
Good trucks? Heh. I don't like Chevy trucks. But I like Dodges. Their new Cummins Turbo Diesle will tear Fords apart.
555ft lbs at 1,400?
Can't beat that
335HP (I think) at 2,400
He he. Not to cause a flame war. I just think they're good trucks. Not my frist choice (Ford, DUH! Dummy!
), but good trucks none the less>

The cummins is the epitome of reliability however it doesn't hold a candle to the new 6L PSD prdoucing 325hp and 560ft/lbs of torque! BTW, it's 305 hp not 335.

If true, then it means that a Cummins will tear apart an International (see https://www.ford-trucks.com/news/newsg7.html), which means we really are not comparing Fords and Dodges, are we? Also, someone recently told me that Ford bought Cummins and is selling the engines to Dodge (can anyone confirm this?).

TallPaul: No, cummins is still independent. Ford did own some stock in Cummins, but they do not currently.
I've heard through the grapevine that since DCX owns Mercedes, that they will produce a diesel comparible to the cummins to replace it. That would make sense to produce them in-house instead of paying cummins for each motor.

Thanks, It sounded a bit far fetched to me, but the thought of a straight six 5.9 diesel in a superduty had me excited.
Well there would definantly be a lineup for them.
Ford does offer the 5.9L ISB cummins in larger trucks along with an Allison 5-speed automatic. Ironically, wouldn't it be nice to know you have the best truck, possibly the best diesel engine, and best automatic produced by the top three producers in ONE truck?!
