MustangGT221: Yes the 6L does replace the 7.3L in all models. 7.3L production was discontinued several weeks ago. The 6L starts production, or either Ford starts to install them in the Superduty on Nov. 4, 5 more days!
The tonka did have 600ft/lbs of torque, but for at least the first year Ford is rating them at 560ft/lbs of torque. Rumor is 2004 for the additional 40ft/lbs gain.
I heard it waved "bye, bye" to both the new Duramax, and Cummins, on a grade with a 10,000 pound trailer at over 65 mph, while the chevy was to the floor at 50, and the dodge at like 45. They didn't test the new H.O. cummins because they said it's not 50 state legal, and the Ford is, so it's not really fair, but they said it probably wouldn't have effected the results much.
