Whats up with this oversized Sorta V-shaped exhaust
manifold? it's on a 1961 fe head, It looks like it would
flow way better than those square-ish manifolds.
one more here, the pass. side exh.manifold looks to
me like I could slice it, then weld some metal to it until
it's a square box with a hole in the back. I mean doubling the
volume inside, so youd get hedder flow with out the Pain in
the neck. any ideas on this?
Depending on your description it could either be cast iron headers or and FT manifold. Both flow better. If I recall correctly the FT manifolds won't bolt right up to the FE heads. I don't know where this though came from so it might not be right.
Sorta looks like a baseball mit or something, it slopes
more with the block for a tighter fitting exhuast, something
that could be used to get a big motor in a smaller area maybe?.
There was a special 427 exhaust manifold intended to allow the use of Medium riser heads in the mustang/fairlane bodies.
These manifolds did indeed look like a ball glove.
They have verticle bolt patters only. These are ultra rare high $$$$ parts going for $500-$1000
If you find a set cheap grab em fast!!!!!!
it's on my 390 4v, I was just curious since it definitly
doesn't look like a stock log, I know where more are,
there's just never a nice bulky one on the passenger side, only
the drivers.
Now I know what they are! D5TE9431BC is a late model pickup driver's side FE exhaust manifold. It's V shaped like a ram horn with ribs, right? Too bad they couldn't do something similar on the passenger side.
ya its ribbed, pretty nice manifold for stock equipment.
That one side thing gets me too! why not the other
side too? I think that kinda blows the point of making a
nice piece just for one side.
