Does any one make a complete 4 wheel disc brake like willwood or bear my truck is a 1973 f100 , i got 20'' rims on my truck and the caliper can be seen and i would like an after market kit
You can convert the front and rear to disks for much less. It's a bit late to take the time now or I'd find a thread showing how. Do a search for 9" and disk and you should come up with a thread or 2 (or three or eight) explaining how to do it and what parts to use.
When you get the new calipers from the parts store they are far from crusty
If he wants to throw that much $$ at it - it's his truck. I wouldn't pay 200x the price for something I can get the same performance out of for cheaper. Then again I wouldn't throw 20's on my truck either
These are Mustang SHO rear calipers on my 74. Not quite as sexy as some Brembos or Wilwoods.
And? Not sure why you quoted me on that.
Sure they are not as "sexy" but they do the same job, almost equally as well (wilwood aluminum calipers flex too much) and they cost a LOT less. You're paying for just the "sexy" on the others.
If it means that much to you - take the calipers apart and have the bodies cad plated or powder coated and then keep them clean. Some of the bling with the lower price tag still
I am just going off of the original poster making comments regarding 20" wheels and wanting Wilwoods or Baer calipers.
I suggested SSBC knowing they make the fancy calipers, but at a cost. I know full well what factory stuff can be used, but it wasn't what the OP wanted.
As for me, I couldn't care less what my calipers look like.
Kit A118 is for Truck 9 inch conversions. I used their kit on a 76 F100 I had. Back in the day the entire kit was just under $600 if I remember right. Now I see it's $900+
So when I went to do my 1974 conversion I copied their brackets and got new calipers from the auto parts store. As for the rotors they are either front rotors from a Jeep CJ7 or the front rotors off of a late 70s F150. Total cost at the time was like $150! All new parts.
