While stalking parts at the junkyard, I have noticed that the early Cadilac EFI had throttle body type injection system, with v6's, I believe. I guess I would feel better about pulling one of those and dinkering with it.

The price tag is a bit steep on the new ones.

Were they 4bbl like throttle bodies? Might be interesting to look into. I think the issue would come from tracking down a programmable chip for one and having to program it by hand to the 300, unlike the auto tuning of the new ones.

They may not be 4v bodies. I noticed them, but did not look at them more than just in passing because I searching for a different prize. My perfect day at the boneyard: finding a truck with a 300 with a turbo set up, FI, and double Gear vendor units on a C6, with driveshaft cut and balanced.

Hey F-250 restorer,

When I read your "perfect day at the boneyard:", I was reminded of a saying I heard (often) as a child... "If wishes were horses, all beggars would ride!"

curious how well it will work on a 300. I'm going to keep looking around the internet and see if I can find anything

That's just the problem 4 me. As many could guess I'm "the last on the block to get" (anything). It's just not proven yet. When the bugs R worked out, enuff tested by the masses...esp 4 $1500 +/- . Still lookin 4 a ZF, will go DSII etc to me those R proven upgrades, durable, affordable etc.
Let us know what U find - always open to new info...

If I am going to dream, I may as well add finding an attache case tucked up under the seat of a truck, filled with nice, crisp hundreds, staked in sequential order, just waiting for me and my passport to take them to Monte Carlo with a flashy, breasty blonde on either side, stepping out of my Ferrari...
