At the Dealership?

Do I have to tell the guy at the dealership to use the distilled water for the coolant flush or is he going to know.

ehgeeray is probably correct.

If you want to use distilled water (which I do) then you had better do it yourself.

Is using tap water Kosher with Ford?? Does the factory have a spec on this?

I've used distilled water on everything I've owned (gas/diesel/car/truck/mortorcycle) for the last 25 yrs.

The use of distilled water is mentioned multiple times in my owner's manual with reference to the cooling system. See the following statement for one example.

The coolant concentration should be maintained at 50/50 coolant and distilled water, which equates to a freeze point of -34°F (-36°C).

What if buy distilled water and take it to them, that's messed up that I wont know what they really used. What about the vc9, are they going to lie to me about that too.

Your welcome as I said there are and different opinions as you can see by this thread example. You didn't say how many miles you have on the coolant or your truck. Drop some coolant out from the petcock and see how it looks if it looks pretty bad go for a full bore flush with the 2 quarts of Vc-6 and keep it up until it looks pretty clear. If it looks pretty good bright yellow I would go for just one quart. Personally I don't think the VC-6 would bother the thermostat so left my in. Don't forget your coolant filter.
