I need some help identifying this part
DOTA-9A198-F
It was pulled from inside, of what would be on a car, the left side "B" pillar.
The lines have broken. Can anyone help with these evap line routing?
1970 F100 300ci, 4 on the floor
In cab tank has vent tubes on top.
Two side tank, I'm not sure if they are any good.
Charcoal canister is present but unknown as to its current condition.
Not that I have to pass smog, but it will help keep the fuel smell down in the cab.
yepper its a shame they started doing all that emissions in the 70's. because prior to that cars and trucks were an absolute MASTERPIECE. especially muscle cars. its no wonder some of them bring 6 or even 7 digits at auctions. who woulda knew.
To freshen up this issue, I no longer have fumes in the cab.
I had a rubber fuel line going from one evap line (tank side) to the canister line. This caused gas to fill the canister when it got hot or went around a corner. I have since looped the the tank lines together. (pictures coming soon)
I'm not sure what to do. The "jug" was some sort of Liquid vapor separator for the canister.
Also, I replaced the filler neck hose, and re-tightened the clamps. I think I have them tight now. I have a locking gas cap and I do not recall it it is vented or not. In this case I hope it is vented, as I have removed the evap/vent system.
If this all is ok, I will remove the evap canister. It is falling apart anyway.
I will also note that I have not filled the tank more the 1/2. I will be cheking into my gas cap and post back.
