What gene meant to say was dont install an Autolite 1107. Is that correct?
No I said what I meant: DO NOT USE A GP THAT IS CATALOGUED FOR OUR ENGINES. I don't care who made them or what language they speak. PM me if you want to discuss this further.
You know gene that is a bit out of line. I was just checking to see that I had your info correct. You seem to be mad that we don't follow your lead or something, if we have offended you in any way I am sorry. The 1109's are great, I just don't want to use them. Please accept my humble apology if my statement irritated you. Nothing foul intended at all. Really.

You know, I'm far less inclined to support your claims about the self-regulating plugs if you're going to hide in a corner instead of discussing things just because there's a few jerks around. Also, I think this claim is absolutely outrageous, and i'd like to hear your reasoning.
This is a forum for information and discussion so that the original poster can make an educated decision. This isn't so that we can bicker at each other and hide our knowledge from the public.
there was once a post.... about a week or two ago that showed why we don't use anything but motorcraft plugs......
i myself bought a truck that had 3 or 4 different brands in it at once....
autolite, bosch, motorcraft, and one with no brand stamp.... the autolites had visible swelling on the tips and the boschs had burnt out but the only motorcraft in there was the one who lit up the test light when i ran the test luckily the old controller had burnt up before the autolites could swell up more and get stuck in my heads.
as for the 1109's........................ WHY!
there not designed to work in these engines you have to MODIFY your FACTORY EQUIPMENT to get them to work..... use what works!motorcraft plugs work and they do work... dont spend more time and money to switch to plugs that werent even designed for this motor
save your time to do stuff you want to do and just put the motorcrafts in and go on with life
Only use the motorcraft/beru ones. They were designed to be used in your motor.
Guys, I know we can keep these glow plug threads civil. GeneO, say your piece and everyone else will say theirs. Its up to the OP on what plug they decide to use. I'm no mod, but you have to appreciate them for what they put up with. I know I couldnt do it......
Yeah and **** on a guy that tries to slow the problem down. Whatever. Gene I tried. You could care less and for that I will now go back, find all your bull**** and store it for the next guy that is unlucky enough to ask. That way they can see through the garbage and your funky *** attitude and you can just enjoy being odd man out. More than a few of us have done a lot of research to conclude you have warranted information. We tried, you failed, don't ****ing pm me again because I'm not interested.
sorry guys to cause an up roar. I really don't mind with sticking to stock...I too found it weird the ford dealer ship could not get the gp for me. they said the part number was dicod. i have a few friends that told me to do more research before using auto lites or such due to them having issues with them. Up here in maine we tend to have some extreme temps in the winter, and i do plan on using the truck in the winter time. I just want the truck to start easily, and not have to worry about replacing the gp's every year. I am open to options..

no worries bigdave its been an interesting couple weeks around here to say the least.lol as far as the glow plug brand honestly motorcraft/beru was the OEM plug and that is what the system is designed to run with.i personally would not risk running something that was not OEM for the vehicle as far as the glow plug system goes.i just dont want a guy coming back on here saying that he got bad advice and now has to pull heads to get broken or swelled plugs out.with the beru zd1a you wont have that issue.i have yet to see or run across one that was swelled to the point of being unremoveable .
Not your fault bro it is ours. Don't mind us when we carry on barking at each other. Just means you struck a chord in the knowledge department and when all is said and done you will have the goods. Autolite, champion, and Bosch all failed me within a week. My motorcraft beru zd9 plugs have stood the test. 6 months runnin strong! Even survived the controller flaking out and glowing them for about 28 seconds before I shut it down. All still good. Experience tells me to stick with what works, tried and true. I am not....not saying the 1109's are crap but you can kiss ma big one with the 1107 and 1108 autolite. They forever suck ***
