E350 remote door lock module

E350 remote door lock module
Hi folks. I bought a used 2005 E350 v10 15 passenger van and it came with no remote door lock button thingy.
So I went to the dealer and they ordered a remote and programmed it but nothing happened, so they told me it was not set up for remote door lock operation.
It has electric door locks in it now XLT I can operate the locks with one button up front or back.
Does anyone know what it would take to make it work. Is there a module I can plug into my fuse box somewhere and get the remote option working?
Any help appreciated.

Hmmm...
You need some wiring diagrams to see if it is a BCM programming issue.
Often, it is not just programming (e.g. to add cruise require new steering wheel, clock spring, and programming),
But the basic wiring is also different.
Exactly what are you trying to get working?
The wireless remote?
If so, that is a lot more work...

My 2003 E350 had power door locks but no remote control system. I added a Ford hang on keyless entry system. The hang on unit also had an alarm system as part of it. I didn't set up the alarm system but the keyless entry system works just like factory.

Thanks for the input follks. today I went to Best Buy and bought an alarm that had the remote included. $200 and a long install. Apparently the van uses a 5 wire set up on the door locks where as a lot of newer vehicles have only a two wire. The remote works fine and they did a pretty tidy and nice install. Lifetime warranty on their workmanship and a year on the alarm.
I hated not putting Ford stuff on it but I'll wee how it goes.
