I was looking at a semi universal top dash 3 pod gauge holder, mainly its honda guys that use them like ont he early 90's models and I noticed (I own a 91 honda) that I could mount them on outs over the radio like you are talking about and yeah William has been working out his custom setup for a while I know I am excited for him to get it figured out. I am looking into gauges and want to hook up a gauge to watch my Fuel pressure.
I don't have a picture but I mounted six gauges under the ash tray. Four of them are in a auto meter mount and two are attached to the side of it. Its not professional but functional. From left to right they are: oil temp, trans temp, coolant temp, boost, EGT and oil pressure. Right under the steering wheel is my fuel pressure gauge. I mounted the scan gauge on the pillar.
i have my 3 on the pillar then right beside the bottom guage i have the scan guage mounted to the dash in a universal pod. Cody mounted an HPOP guage and the scan guage to his steering column w/ universal pods. summit has a wide range of universal pods too.
Earl, you left your caps lock on... haha. you can get that same pod from summit. i think i remember seeing it there. then paint it to match your interior or leave it black, either way. wiring would be the same, just a bigger PITA than doing them on the A pillar.
