lunging & missing
I have 96 ,351engine, at low rpm and idle speed my engine will pull it self but lunges ,also at idle speed and 1500 it will miss .but above that it runs like an ape. there is no codes I had this checked. I have clean the air control valve. what else??
Solved the problem it was the ERG valve changed out no more lunges or missing. Thanks to everyone for the help John Carter

If there are no codes its not a misfire. Dirty injectors, bad fuel pressure regulator, old gas, clogged fuel filter are the first four things that come to mind. I'd start with the easiest and keep pecking til you find the culprit.
Change fuel filter unless you are certain of its age/condition.
Check fuel pressure at the fuel rail. (KOEO)
If you have acceptable pressure (35-40 psi), run some good fuel injector cleaner (Lucas is my personal choice) through the system for the next couple fill ups and see if the problem persists.

"Under load" performance issues are typically fuel related but don't completely rule out crud in a cap/rotor assembly either. Any other electrical issue would rear its ugly head in the form of a fault code which apparently does not exist.

I have the very same issue with My 93 Bronco 5.8 did a compleete tune up last night set timing and all still no change I believe it to be bad injectors these are the original injectors have shoped around and found a full set on ebay for much less than the local auto parts store does anyone have experience with injectors of ebay. I will replace the fuel filter but I do not think this is the culpret here I will also check the fuel rail pressure. sorry to inject my issues here but it seems right on track with my truck.

Aouto Lite Plat. set @.050 filter six months old will replace when I get home from this trip and I will also check pressure at that time as I said earlier these are the original injectors so I am guessing that is my problem

New high flow cat and 3inch Exhaust back with Flowmaster I also think the shop added a new Y Pipe to reduce the restriction at that point could be wrong (dont tell the wife I said that} LOL but I really think its the injectors from all my reading here will by new one off ebay and try them out let you guys know how they work out
