Thankfully it's slacked off here. Enough so that the creeks have started to go down. Now don't get me wrong, we are approaching 17 inches of rain here, but even as fast as it's raining, its slow enough to allow the creeks to drain. Any more flash heavy storms though and the garage will for sure be under water and the barn might be again. So it's a precarious balance here.
Wow guys I was wondering how our Mid TN guys were fairing it doesn't look to well we hafve just got an inch or so its amazing what can happens just over the plateau. Praying for you all and hope there is no major damage to you all.
I got lucky, I'm OUT OF water (Poplar Grove Utilities got their main busted) along with about 3,000 other people.
Still - it doesn't look like I need to water my gardens for at least a week. It's bad out here to the west, a lot of folks were ordered out of their homes by county sherriffs before they could even grab their pets. Power is out a lot of places, roads washed out or collapsing, crops washed out, farm machinery submerged (at least once), and I'm not sure if we're even seeing the snowmelt from up north yet.
There's a team of engineers coming in to inspect bridges in the area, at least one was closed by peace officers because it began to shake from the water going through it.
I heard sunday was the high point, and that most of the weather is now past us.
Subtle way of telling viewers, those of you, "YOU'RE SCREWED," left 'em wet and screamin no more, I can't take anymore. Satisfied y'all? YouTube - Middle Tennessee Tornado *****
Crap, I think I'm starting to get sick from when I had to go to the barn on saturday to try to pump out the water that was in the studs stall. I knew doing that would bite me in the butt.
Hit Nashville HARD!
On that note, the Opryland Hotel was flooded big time, I saw pictures where the only thing visible for the ground floor was the Exit sign that was above the water, the doors were submerged, reminded me of a sunken ship. That area was flooded years ago when the amusement park was beside it, I'm guessing the mall was flooded, I get the image of the boats at Bass Pro floating around the parkinglot. The river front area looked like a lake, it was bad, the direction the storm headed was in line of the dam in Kentucky that is leaking, imagine had that thing failed, who's to say it wont.
Well, hope everyone made out ok, It didn't get to bad here at the house, i got about 2 inches of water in the shop, but it only made it in about 10ft, the rest was just enough to wet the floor. The creek right down the road came up over the road, and you couldn't get out of my road til this morning, and where the creek runns back behind my house, its far enough back on our property it didn't bother anything. Heres a pic of our town square here in Lebanon. Thats a 65 T. Bird thats ben sitting there for months.
