Of course Lee if you could find a Dodge to take you could deliver it and then make a quick turn around to get back!

Afternoon guys, looks like you have been busy in here lately. Work is finally picking up, so I tend to disappear from the boards. I'm down in southern MN finishing a deck for my Wife's Grandfather, you have to deal with the in laws a bit but you sure eat good on the farm.

Evening everyone.

This is the village idiot checking in.

Need a little assistance.

Where is the steering stabilizer located?

I looked and don't see one. Is it possible I do not have one.

It should be on the long steering rod under the engine right.

Da

Yeah it should be. Not all of them had one though.

Did you see any brackets?

Yeah, they make kits that simply clamp on. Any parts store should have them.

Do they help?

The truck moves around when you hit bumps, and the steering is very tight and touchy.

What is the best way to tell if ball joints and tie rod ends are good?

They do help with that for sure. To check for the ball joints and tie rods is pretty easy. Jack up the truck and shake the tire back and forth, and also up and down. See if there is any play. You should also take a pry bar to the ball joints to check for lateral play.

Thanks Dave, that is how I have checked them, and they seem good. The truck has always wandered a little on bumps, but it was really bad after I rotated the tires. Probably the cheap Goodyears it has.

Goodyear tires will do that. They have a tendency to have soft sidewalls. Are they load range E?

Are you heading to Troy's this weekend?
