who makes a good TPS i bought one from auto zone a wells brand and it has crapped out within a few thousand miles and what could go bad inside of them it basically looks like a electric choke to me. maybe i am not adjusting them right some pointers on adjustment would be helpful . by the way its on a 92 f-350 7.3 diesel

Throttle Position Sensor = TPS. The TPS is a potentiometer or in other words a variable resistor. It's function is sense the position of the throttle valve; what you called an electric choke. My suspision is your TPS is adjustable and you should get a voltmeter in there and check it. You probably need to adjust it for correct output at idle.
