runs rough when cold
My 03 6.0 runs has a rough idle when the motor is cold. The RPM’s go up and down. The truck stalls with some starts, and blows white smoke with the smell of diesel smoke. When the motor is warm I have no issues. Would this be an injection control pressure sensor (ICP) issue or a dirty EGR valve. I am in the middle of a oil cooler replacement now, so if you think it would be an ICP it would be easy to change.
Since your that close replace the ICP, also the electrical connector if it is oil soaked.

Defer to Maximum and Cheezit here...
But it doesn't hurt to:
A) clean EGR valve (if not done recently)
B) reset computers, clear all codes
C) take it for an Italian tuneup.
Note: right after you clean EGR, often a loose piece of carbon will cause an intake / exhaust valve to stick open... zero power.
Rev motor clears that.
